A High-Permeance Organic Solvent Nanofiltration Membrane via Polymerization of Ether Oxide-Based Polymeric Chains for Sustainable Dye Separation

The widely used dyes in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical industries have brought about an intensive concern for sustainable development of environment. Membrane separation offers a versatile method classified recycling reuse residual components. In this work, polyimide membranes were synthesized via polymerization 4,4′-(hexafluor-isopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride 1,4-bis (4-aminophenoxy) benzene diamine. organic solvent nanofiltration membrane was prepared by casting onto glass plate precipitating non-solvent phase. properties recorded FTIR, 1HNMR, TGA, GPC. molecular simulations carried out to analyze affinity between different solvents. removal Rose Bengal, methyl blue, Victoria blue B, crystal violet from methanol. effects feed liquid concentration, operating pressure, swelling degree, resistance, long-term running on performance studied. Results showed that work demonstrated high permeation dye rejection due sieving effect affinity. For achieved permeability 2.18 L∙m−2∙h−1∙bar−1 corresponding ratio 94.2%. Furthermore, exhibited good stability over 60 h continued testing. These results recommend potential strategy suitable monomer prepare separation.
